Christina Aguilera wants to be called 'Baby Jane' from now on.

The 'Dirrty' singer, who used to be known as 'Xtina', has reinvented herself
for her new album, 'Back To Basics', ditching her trademark leather chaps
and body piercings for a new demure 50s-inspired look.

Christina insists she wants people to call her by the new nickname because
she is a new person.

She told HX magazine: "I thought Xtina was a cute nickname for the last
record, but now the character for this record is 'Baby Jane'."



The 25-year-old star, who is married to music executive Jordan Bratman, has
also praised former rival Britney Spears.

Christina thinks Britney, who is currently expecting her second child with
husband Kevin Federline, is in a special place in her life right now.

She said: "I knew that eventually our bodies of work would differ. I think
she's in a beautiful time in her life right now - she's a mother, and I
think it's great."

I think your a big lame-ass if you start giving yourself nicknames and expect people to call you by them.  Baby Jane is a stupid name and Christina is stupid for wanting to be called that.

X-Tina, Baby Jane, WTF?? Is she going through some identity crisis? Just like Puffy/Puff Daddy/P.Diddy/Diddy or Se-Diddy, whatever the hell he wants to be called. I can’t stand when people change their names, its too damn confusing. I do love her voice, but this is too much.

Maybe next time her name will just be a symbol, and we’ll have to call her “the fruitcake formerly known as Christina Aguilera.”

Love Christina but the name “Baby Jane” reminds me of that cartoon on Comedy Channel or Cartoon Network (can’t remember which one)  where the cartoon characters live in a Real World type house and one character is an old black n white pin up who still shows her tits and thinks shes hot shit even though she’s all old & used up.

mimimumbi, i guess you can kind of look at it that way, a sort of “alter-ego”...after all, I am “miss caliente”, which was derived from a joke-nickname I had a few years back. However, the difference is I don’t expect to be referred to as miss caliente in my daily life, whereas she does. silly, but to each his own.

I think the nic, “Bambina ‘Tight Pants’ Aguilera” fits her better.

well, i like christina and i like her evolving personas.  more power to her that she has the balls to be creative.  she reminds me of prince more than madonna.  it’s people like them, the artists/entertainers that make pop-culture so interesting.
