Hugh Hefner is trying to make it up to one of his girlfriends Kendra Wilkensen after not sticking up for her in the first place.

Wilkinson was reportedly furious when Elle magazine insinuated she was less intelligent than Hefner's other girlfriends, Bridget Marquardt and Holly Madison, possessing only a "dazed personality and limited vocabulary" on the foursome's E! show "The Girls Next Door."

The story also quoted Hefner remarking on her "distinctly unintellectual charm." (SFG)

An upset Wilkinson said, "A magazine article that just came out ... it hurt my feelings and it really, like, crushed my heart. And Hef being such a great guy, he said, 'You know what, Kendra? I was going to write them a letter and say, like, how this is wrong.'"

Hefner then wrote a letter to writer Daphne Merkin stating he loved the article and thought it was the best piece ever written up about the show.

According to Page Six Hefner has now sent Merkin another letter. He still thinks the article was amazing....

He wrote: "What am I to make of this piece in the New York Post? As I said in my letter, I think your article in Elle on 'The Girls Next Door' is the best, most perceptive to date. I also think you identified more with Holly than Bridget and Kendra, and that hurt the other girls' feelings. In response to your concern about 'who has big plans for Kendra,' the answer is Kendra, herself. She has already purchased a condo in San Diego as an investment with money earned from the show. And she has just signed a lucrative contract for her own clothing line."

“The Girls Next Door” is a creepy show. Hef comes across kind of like the invalid in the first “Texas Chainsaw Massacre”. The one in the wheelchair who they try to put a hammer in his hand so he can hit/kill the kidnapped prisoner but the hammer just keeps falling impotently out of his hand accomplishing nothing.

I love Kendra.  I think she’s funny and has so much personality. 

Poor Kendra, she’s not that pretty or smart, so she tries to make up for it by being so crazy.  I guess that’s what I love about her!

Kendra is awesome. She is really funny too. I just love her.

When she laughs she sounds like a machine gun. Nothing more than an upscale prostitute.

The best show will be after Hef kicks off. The cat fight that will ensue between Kimberly Conrad (the blond bimbo he hasn’t quite divorced yet) and the 3 psuedo-widows.

i love that he said she has “unintellectual charm” b/c Kendra is a HUGE DUMMIE! she is, but she’s also the funniest girl on the show b/c she’s so clueless, has that retarded laugh, and makes fun of herself for being dumb…but not in a cute bimbo way but in a “i AM really stupid sometimes” way. she seems to be the only girl on the show who’s not delusional about her position as a temporary flavor for Hef. Holly is desperate to marry and procreate with that old prune and Bridget is convinced she’s smarter than she is. yes she has a Master’s but she’s too betty boop airhead acting to ever do anything decent with it. p.s. a master’s in communication is only slight less worthless than a master’s in philosophy.

I used to like the show until I read an ebook about how Hef & his girlfriends have sex & it freaked the hell out of me.

My two cents on Holly calling Hef “Puffin” —  I think the whole “Puffin” thing is infantile, retarded and creepy. Seriously.

Holly is so desperate to achieve any semblance of intimacy with a doddering, borderline senile, 80+ year old career, serial, womanizer who the whole world knows is “not that into her” that she resorts to babytalk. BABYTALK!!! Jesus! Babytalk is the height of her romantic, intimate relationship communication skills. I find her to be the most poignantly pathetic of the three.

Hef is the orginal bigtime pimp who made his money publishing nudie pictures. No more, no less. He gets lots of Hollywood friends because they like to come to free lavish parties at the mansion and fuck the pretty girls.

He does exactly what any pimp does. He makes his money from exploiting women. Somewhere over the past ten years or so the term “pimp” changed from being one of the lowest and most shameful insults that a person could be called to somehow being supercool. Also, somehow Paris Hilton became famous. What a world what a world.

When Holly (at least I think it was Holly, it might have been Kendra but I definitely do not think that Bridget would do that shit to him) put the baseball cap on Hef sideways to make him look “cool” and “with it” it was akin to putting a beer helmet on a corpse in a funeral home. Unfunny, unintelligent, demeaning, disrespectful and ultimately depraved.

Hef has the money to live however and do whatever he wants but that tripleheader cradle and grave robbing freak show should have been kept behind closed mansion doors.

So most of you are actually admitting you watch this show and admire hookers.  Wow nice to know my life is not so sad after all!! I guess I just admire people that are true heroes or hard workers, not young tramps spreading their legs for a dirty old man with money.

bridget looks younger than holly. holly acts like she really wantgs to be little wifey and actaully gets hurt when hef says things like her pics suck or something. why the fuck should she care? Kendra is thick (dumb), some of her comments are cringe worthy, her annoying laugh is grating BUT for some reason I like her lol! She is like a big kid, someone who will never really grow up. Bridgette is a sweetheart. She seems to be the most genuine. And I agree, with the other posters, who said she downplays her intelligence. I guess she needs to play the ‘dumb blonde’ part to keep Hef interested.
