Madonna has pissed off Jewish religious leaders over a song titled "Isaac," about a 16th century Kabbalah mystic Yitzhak Luria from her upcoming album, Confessions on a Dance Floor. Israel's Maariv daily newspaper reports that rabbis have called the act a "mercenary move" by Madonna who was once a Roman Catholic.
"Jewish law forbids the use of the name of the holy rabbi for profit. Her act is just simply unacceptable and I can only sympathize for her because of the punishment that she is going to receive from the heavens," says one opponent Rabbi Rafael Cohen.
And it doesn't stop there, Rabbi Israel Deri said of Madonna, "such a woman brings great sin on Kabbalah."
Madonna is always going to remembered for all her scandalous behavior. Remember when she burned crosses in her video for Like a Prayer? That was in 1989 and here we are in 2005 and she is still releasing music that causes a stir.
That's the formula for making it to the top and staying there. And of course you have to know how to be a diva bitch.
