Nick Lachey says he hit the bottle after splitting from Jessica Simpson.

The former 98 Degrees frontman denies he became an alcoholic but says he did
"drown his sorrows" when his now ex-wife told him she wanted a divorce last
December.

He confessed to US chat show host David Letterman: "I definitely think you
go through different phases and there's certainly a phase of, 'Oh, I don't
care about anything - I'm going to throw myself into a little bit of booze
and kind of numb the pain.'

"I went through a little bit of that and came out on the other side and
still have some sobriety left."




Nick - who is now dating MTV presenter Vanessa Minnillo - also revealed he
blames reality show 'Newlyweds' for the breakdown of his marriage.

He said: "It was among the dumber ideas I think I've ever seen executed in
history. For a while, I think we actually enjoyed doing the show. It was
just so invasive that it became a problem."

Nick added: "It's one of those things where I think until you get enough
hindsight and enough clarity and perspective, I don't think you can really
know what happened, but, I certainly think it was probably a factor."

My my look how much a divorce can change a person, she looked better before. I wonder if he drank tequila. 

Breaking up with him was the stupidest thing she has done.  She looks like shit now, and her career is going down the toilet.

I still can’t believe they actually are over. Im never gonna get over it, i know i sound foolish because its not like i even know them personally. But i think they made such a cute couple. Anyways, i don’t blame nick for hitting the bottle after their demise. But i am kind of confused as to how in the world did he love her so much, yet right after the breakup, he was getting with 8 to 9 different woman that we know about? He has never really been called out about that and it bothers me because i don’t get how you can still love someone but sleep with everyone. The two don’t go hand in hand. I just really wish that jessica would go on Oprah and talk about her side of the story. I realize we aren’t entited to it but in a way i feel we are! Only because they let us in on everything else and i think jessica needs to gain more fan support because she lost it when she lost herself, and her morals.

i mean, who hasn’t gotten shit-faced to deal with a breakup at least once? doesn’t mean you got a drinking problem…i think it’s like a compulsory exercise at least once in your life. my BF and i had a really rough patch a while back and i admit i didn’t want to think about it for one night so i got hammered. the next day, after i got over feeling like hell i was figured it ou.

Ms.Sleepy, I know what you mean about Nick romancing so many women after the split. It seemed like he was in some ragmag or on TV with a different chic every other day. Where there are some people like you and I that see love and sex going hand in hand there are others that can very easily seperate the two. My husband has a cousin who is pretty much a self-proclaimed skank/hooker and her motto is “the easiest way to get over one is to get under another one”, who knows?? He may have done some things out of character for him while he was in the midst of despair. I like him because he is real, sweet and totally hot!!
Oh, and I am curious to hear her side. I guess I just want to hear what all she has to say about the infedelity rumors!!! Just curiosity! I am sure it would be an interesting and baffling interview.

Jessica’s breasts aren’t bad, but they naturally fall to the sides (which IMO - isn’t all that great).  I’m betting her nipples aren’t pointing straight either, and the gap is a bit too large (due to saggy breasts at a YOUNG age).  Just my opinion.

Nick is a DOUGH-BOY with a thick nose that needs work.  In the 2nd pic, Jess is looking like Michael Jackson (too thin of a nose).

They both have their flaws and seemed too young (immature) and dumb to be married.
