Lionel Richie has confessed he has become a "basket case" over daughter
Nicole's weight loss.

The 'Dancing on the Ceiling' singer is so worried about how thin his adopted
daughter has become and the constant speculation about her size he has
become a wreck.

Lionel told TV show 'Access Hollywood' on Monday (07/24/06): "I'll be
honest with you, it hurts me more than it hurts her. I'm more sensitive. I
take it more personally. I must tell you, I'm the basket case."

Lionel also revealed that he has had words with his daughter about her
weight and general health.

He added: "What are fathers for if you can't point the finger every once in
a while?

"The good part of it is she is aware of it. She has heard this all her life
from me so this is just a continuation of the reminder."

Nicole, 24, recently admitted that she was too thin and wouldn't want young
girls to copy her look.

She said: "I know I'm too thin right now."

However, when asked how Nicole - who has announced she is releasing a pop
album - is at the moment, Lionel said: "She is doing great."

Hmm…I could swear last year he was singing a different tune,  saying that he wasn’t worried about her and that she was fine and had no eating disorder. Am I confusing him with some other jeri-curled 80’s singer with a skinny daughter?

I would be a basket case if I had to look at her fuckign ugly mug every single day!

Lionel will say whatever to make him or his family look innocent. His idea of having some words with her is probably asking her if she’s ok and she says yes, then he says ok don’t get too thin now. The end.

I think Lionel is happy Nicole has an eating disorder b/c the press are interested in him again.  Love his music, but he really hasn’t been prominent on the scene until Nicole hit it big.

I think she looks gorgeous in those pics.  But I think she’s really pretty.

I know I’ll probably get hated on for saying this, but I think she’s pretty as well, if only she had more weight on her, she’d be gorgeous with another 15 pounds on her!

Lionel gives about as much of a shit about her eating disorder as I do, the bullshiter.  Nuff said.  I’m sure he understands as he was Mr. Cocaine Problem Bigtime in the 80’s.

I don’t think Lionel could give two shits about being in the spotlight again.  Really.  Im sure he’s tired of the press hounding him about her weight.  Its not like he can force her into a program, but he could have an intervention.

I would worry, too, if my daughter got as thin as Nicole did.  She looks so much better now - like a model - beautiful.

Miss caliente, my thoughts exactly. I thought he didn’t care about Nicole’s eating problems. I don’t think he cares any less about being in the limelight again. I used to think his songs were beautiful, now I look back & they were kind of cheesy. “Dancing on the Ceiling” was so lame

I think she’s pretty too, albeit too thin. I used to like her but ever since she tried to morph herself into Paris Hilton, I’ve lost respect for her. And surprise, surprise…now she’s going to cut an album.

I think Nicole is too thin, but I doubt she will gain any weight back any time soon. Why would she? Since she dropped those pounds she’s getting tons of attention all over the place. She’s becoming famous with the Paris Hilton’s former best friend tag.

I think that Nicole is beautiful. I agree that she is too thin, but I have been there myself and I didn’t gain an ounce until I was ready to.
I don’t think she is riding on Paris’s fame. After watching a few episodes of the simple life I am beginning to think Paris is an airhead. Nicole has much more personality in my opinion and seems to show that she can think on her feet. Savannah21180

I think Nicole is beautiful. She was wroking on her album like a year and a half ago…so she was already doing it. But she is kinda thin. She should gain some, but she also had a drug problem, and one thing at a time I guess. But the girl is beautiful. Her eyes are stunning.
