Pamela Anderson refused to star in her new movie unless the producers could
guarantee that her pet turtle would be fake.

The former 'Baywatch' star is currently shooting 'Blonde and Blonder',
alongside Denise Richards, in her hometown of Vancouver, Canada.

In the comic movie, Pam plays a ditzy bombshell who has a pampered pet
turtle.

However, the actress - who is a prominent member of animal rights group
PETA - wouldn't commit to the role until she had assurances no real turtles
would be used or harmed in the making of the film.

She said: "My pet is a turtle in the movie - animatronics of course. No real
turtles are being used. No animals at all. It's an animal friendly set. That
battle was won. Thank you."



Despite her turtle concerns, Pammy - who this year married American
musician Kid Rock - is thrilled to be making a movie in her native country.

She added: "I'm having a blast filming. It's good to be in my hometown. Film
crews in Canada are really the best!"

Pamela is outspoken in her views on animal rights and is an active member of
PETA.

Earlier this year, the stunning actress posed virtually naked in the shop
window of fashion designer Stella McCartney's London boutique as part of an
anti-fur protest.

oh please! If it’s a pampered turtle what harm would be done to it?  She’s nuts and is wanting to be a diva but all she can make demands about is a turtle.  Hope she wasn’t wearing her leather shoes when she was telling them.

I can see and appreciate the whole protecting the animals thing, but I mean, come one, it is about a pampered turtle. How much harm could have been done? I think she was just trying to throw her authority around and get her way. I think these celebs take it too far trying to be divas in control….

....or her leather boots, or her leather belts or driving her car with leather seats or wearing any suede at all. Do you think Kid Rock wears plastic cowboy boots??  Do you think they don’t own any leather furniture?? Got a news flash for you Pammy, when you take the skin off an animal it DIES!! Guess you don’t own any leather or snake skin purses….yeah right.

GO PAM! I think she’s not that smart, but I LOOOOVE the way she loves and try to protect animals. And I think she doesn’t get enough credit for this.

What harm would it be for a turtle to just have it on set and pamper it? I can see it they would have a scene where the turtle is being tossed across the room or something, but i doubt it would be doing stunts that would harm it. But protect the animals right? And a movie starring them two is a comedy of its own.

I agree with u gambitgirl. No way would a move staring Pam and Densie will draw in a birng crowd. That’s my opinion!

That movie sounds about as exciting as…zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.  Turtle or no turtle.

I’d rather watch a 2 hour fil of a turtle trying to get across the road than watch those two.

I wish more celebrities would follow suit and take action for animals.  I respect and admire her for the work she does to educate society on animal cruelty.

Gruh? She’s not from Vancouver, she’s from Ladysmith. Granted, it’s Vancouver area, but… isn’t it all the way ... ON THE ISLAND?
