TMZ reports:
Paris has filed a notice with the court, vowing to appeal her 45-day jail sentence.
The notice is a formality that lawyers are required to file before lodging the appeal. It does not give the grounds for the appeal, but Hilton's lawyers must essentially prove that the trial judge abused his discretion by imposing the sentence.

i hope to god that appeal doesn’t work. please let her serve time, the full 45! if not then it’s a sign god hates us all.

They didn’t let the public sign an appeal or petition from her to show her face, why should she get one?

no paris you were not treated unfairly..welcome to the real world, this is how the rest of us are treated…the judge isn’t one of the moron club promoters who kiss your ass and give you everything you want.
she shows up 20 minutes late for court like it’s no big deal. he should have held her in contempt of court and given you another 30 days you asshat

Why does she think that her sentence was unfair and “cruel” because wouldn’t any of us have gotten a tougher sentence than this with all of those violations and offenses? I agree w/poonster, too. She should have gotten in trouble for being “fashionably late” to court. She is a friggin nut! I pray this appeal makes no difference in this judgement.

The attorney who filed this notice of appeal on Paris’ behalf is with Johnnie Cochran’s law firm.

Not only does she need to serve every minute of that 45 days like any other American citizen would have to, but I hope that the Judge can INCREASE her sentence to the 90 days because she was late and because she is wasting the Court’s time with her immature, self indulgent, groundless appeal. How insulting to the Judge.

She might lose the appeal but with the overcrowding in LA jails, she most likely will serve less than 45 days.

Drama Queen. When is she going to grow up? I guess she still believes she is above the law. I guess that is why she fired Elliot so that she could pin the blame on him. I bet he got paid really well to get fired. Jail would do her some good. Give her a different perspective on life. She needs it.

I find it very hard to believe that this appeal has any feet to it at all. She violated her probation, not once, but twice. Judge’s don’t “feel” for the defendant after you’ve violated more than once. Your chances of altering your sentencing at that point become pretty nil, no matter who your attorney is, hot shot or not.
She needs to know that she is NOT above the law, any more than any of the other known drug, alcohol abusers in Hollywood who also need to put on the orange jumpsuit for a few days themselves. I don’t have to name names. We all know who they are.

If I was paying as much as she’s probably paying that high-falutin’ law firm, I’d at least expect them to type the damn legal documents instead of having what looks like a teenage girl hand-write it out.
At this point, it looks like it’s become a personal attack of the Hilton family on this Judge. Hopefully, justice will prevail.
In the meantime, not that I have supported Paris’ endorsed products or the Hilton Hotel chain all along, but I intend to boycott anything and everything that is associated with the Hilton name. This judicial event has proven that Momma Hilton truly does think her family is above the law and all of humanity, so the public should hit the family back where it hurts—their pocketbooks.

the fact that she drove around on a suspended license (and got caught 2x) only shows that she did not take the original offense (drunk driving) seriously. She could have killed someone that night and the court tried to punish her by suspending her license- that obviously did not work so she should be punished harder.
And Kathy laughing at the sentence shows complete disrespect to the courts!

Oh my god….enough about this waste of space. Hopefully she will get a dose of reality when she hits the jail cell. Why are we still talking about her???? *non rhetorical question*
