Paris Hilton has rehired publicist Elliot Mintz.

The hotel heiress attended lawyer Robert Shapiro's 'Sober Day USA' party
last night (05.07.07) accompanied by Mintz, who she sacked after he admitted
responsibility for her 45-day jail sentence.

Mintz said: "The rumors of our professional separation were
over-exaggerated."

Paris had allegedly parted ways with her publicist over the weekend after
she was handed the prison term for driving with a suspended license by a Los
Angeles judge on Friday (05.04.07).

The 26-year-old blonde had been on a 36-month probation order after pleading
"no contest" to reckless driving but claimed in court Mintz had not told her
she was banned from driving.

Paris has now launched an appeal against her sentence but legal experts do
not believe she will be successful.

One experienced attorney who specializes in driving under the influence
(DUI) cases said: "Her chances of winning an appeal are little to none. The
prosecutors had a slam dunk case. The evidence was overwhelming that she
repeatedly violated her probation."

Paris has claimed that police only stop her so they can hit on her.

She said: "I think I get in more trouble just because of who I am.
"The cops do it all the time.

"They'll just pull me over to hit on me. It's really annoying. They're like,
'What's your phone number? Want to go to dinner?' "



A Christian group are planning to celebrate Paris' jail sentence by trashing
her CDs at US Hilton hotels.

Mark Dice - founder of The Resistance, who have previously criticized 50
Cent and Jessica Simpson for being bad role models - will speak at Los
Angeles' Beverly Hilton on June 5 - the day Paris is due to begin her
sentence.

He said: "The kinds of role models that have come to light recently in
America are horrible.

"She is an extremely materialistic, uneducated person who rose to prominence
because of a homemade sex video. Now we have all these young, preteen and
teenage girls who really look up to her.

"We're going to be throwing her CDs in huge trash cans and getting them off
the face of the Earth."

On her MySpace page this morning, Paris says her friend Joshua Capone started a petition, and asks that her fans "help and sihn [sic] it," adding, "I LOVE YOU ALL!!!" The petition takes the somewhat puzzling tack of pointing out that she's an heiress to the Hilton fortune, and that Paris "provides hope for young people all over the U.S. and the world."



She also has to serve a minimum of 39 days if she's on her best behavior.
