Pink has become the face of a campaign encouraging gay people to come out.

The 'Who Knew' singer helped Human Rights Campaign's 'Project Snapshot' to launch National Coming Out Day this week.

Pink, 27, who is heterosexual and married, has lent her face to the picture campaign, holding a sign which says "Talk about it".



Human Rights Campaign President Joe Solmonese said: "Pinkis one of millions of straight Americans who supports fairness and honesty for everyone - GLBT or straight.

"This project will show the faces of countless Americans who support openness over painful silence and isolation. Young people who are afraid to come out will see these pictures and faces and know that they are not alone."

Pink will be featured in the Human Rights Campaign's 'Snapshot Photo Project' an online public art project designed to encourage conversation about GLBT people's lives, and supports equality and fairness.

The public can participate by downloading a "Talk About It" sign, and taking a digital picture of themselves with their sign along with friends, family, or co-workers.

Pink’s awesome~ I support the cause:) Everybody needs to be honest with themselves and others. Honesty is better than being miserable. It may upset people that you’re different, or have different interests, but they’ll have to get over it. There’s nothing WRONG with being gay, it’s just different and hard for Heterosexual people to understand. So “don’t understand” turns into “wrong” or “evil”. It’s BS.

I think the cause itself is great, but if I were gay I would not find it comforting to come out because a famous, straight and married celebrity says it is ok to. That is just me, though. Bless her for trying anyway. I don’t really like or dislike Pink. I’ve never really thought about it.

Oh, why they have to hire a threesome loving attention ho to make millions of young confused people to come out regardless of the consequences. Coming out should be personal choice and you don’t need a pop slug to tell you what to do. People do stay in closet for various reasons and that is allowed. This is really disgusting.

I don’t know whether it is so wrong for a ‘straight’ person to participate in this campaign. How comfortable would adolescent gay boys feel coming out to..let’s say sexually obsessed George Michael? (Being on sexual overdrive is a claim he made himself). Now THAT is a scary thought to me!

If people, at any age, want to out themselves, they’ll do it to the person they feel the most at ease with. Reagardless their sexual orientation. But celebrities can probably make it easier to take that step for insecure people.
