Sarah Michelle Gellar insists she was the perfect choice to play a prostitute in her new film - because she looks like a mixture of a hooker and a porn star.

The 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' actress plays a working girl in new movie 'Southland Tales' alongside Justin Timberlake and former wrestler The Rock.

Gellar, 29, insists her sexy blonde look made her ideal for the role.

She told Glamour magazine: "When you look at me, you think, I know - porn star!' It's sort of like a calling."



Gellar attracted a legion of male fans playing Buffy, and sent pulses racing with her tight costumes.

However, the actress refused to bare her breasts in 'Southland Tales', despite her illicit role.

She revealed: "My trainer said to me, 'So we've got to start getting you in shape for this topless scene.' And I was like, 'I'm sorry, what?' And he said he had read somewhere that I had said I really wanted to take my top off in a movie. But I immediately said to him, 'To know me is to know that's not true.'"

I can’t wait to see this movie! She looks so pretty. But, i don’t look at her and see pornstar! People used to call me buffy in high school because iuse to look just like her, unfortunitly thats no longer true:(

I don’t really see her as a pornstar/hooker…Weird that she would say that about herself. I would be supremely offended if someone said I looked like a hooker/pornstar…I’m sorry, I just don’t see those as respectable professions. Whatever, let her think that I guess. I look at her and see that bitch cheerleader in high school. She may or may not be a bitch, but she just looks like she would’ve been stuck up in high school to me. Looks don’t always say everything about a person, but sometimes they do…I think it’s a tad egotistical to call yourself sexy, I don’t have a problem with someone being happy with themselves, but it seems bloated when you tell anybody who will listen how sexy you are.

Considering that it’s not in quotes it seems more like the magazine or Hollywood Rag is just referring to her as sexy and not the she said that she is. But even if she did say it, what’s the problem? Should women not believe that their sexy? If she’s healthy, works out regularly and feels good about herself she should have every right to call herself sexy and not get lambasted about it.

Hey, at least she is not getting nude in the film. I don’t think shes a skank at all. We have never heard of any sexual escapades on her part. She dresses conservatively and she hates her legs so she barely shows them. If your talking about paris or lindsey or britney, then yeah they are skanks but sarah, i wouldn’t call her one.

I think it’s odd that she automatically equates “porn star” with “sexy” or “beautiful”... Ron Jeremy is a porn star too.

As for typecasting herself as “sexy” or whatever… eh, I don’t know.  She always came across as quite the opposite to me… like a rigid, prissy little cold fish.  She’s pretty, though.  And I actually think she’s got great legs, at least based on the picture.

Marydoll, I get what you’re saying but I think it’s kind of out of her control. Like I have a friend who has what we call “BitchFace”. When she’s just being normal (like not smiling or laughing) she has the bitchiest face in the world. We know it, she knows it, her family knows. She even has on her Myspace “I know I look like a bitch but I’m really not.” I think Sarah’s just saying that she get’s that a lot, people tell her she looks like a porn star.

She does not look like a porn star or a hooker. WTF is she thinking? In my opinion, she looks more wholesome than most celebs in her age range. I mean, her and Freddy Prinze Jr. look like the poster couple for a church advertisement. She is full of it. I think she is a very cute girl, but sexy or porn starish…NOT!!! I love SMG, but I dont get why the hell they would use an actor with a no nudity clause for a prostitute in a movie like this, especially as I understand the movie has to have a “R” rating due to all the language…  Bit of random nudity would no doubt go down well in a movie like this….

The no-nudity clause doesn’t matter because the movie isn’t about porn. It’s set in 2008 and it’s sc-fi thriller/comedy about conspiracy and the apocalypse.
