Jeanne Carmen, the "little country girl" who became a 1950s pinup and actress and hobnobbed with Frank Sinatra and other stars, has died. She was 77. Carmen died of lymphoma Thursday at her Orange County home.
Jeanne recalls the first moment she saw Bobby Kennedy at Marilyn's home kissing madly.
Trick shot golfer, Hollywood party girl, Marilyn Monroe pal, kiss-and-tell autobiographer; Jeanne Carmen is all this and more. In the early 1950's, Carmen took the road often traveled by glamour gals. She competed and won several beauty contest and then tried to parlay that into an acting career.
At the Actor's Studio she met up with fellow glamour gal Marilyn Monroe. This friendship last until Monroe's death and included enough juicy escapades to fill page after page in Carmen's tell-all book "My Friend Marilyn: The Real Story, Plus Other Celebrities I've Played With." And those celebrities, according to Carmen, included JFK, RFK, Elvis, Sinatra, and Bob Hope, just to name a few.
i miss the old Hollywood glam style these women had. celebs these days are tacky and tasteless for the most party, the few exceptions being people like Reese Witherspoon and others who aren’t in love with their own fame and image and live relatively normal lives despite the wealth and attention. they treat their jobs as JOBS, not lifestyles to constantly be upgraded and flashed about to validate Hollywood’s false reality.
