Apparently he drugged her before having sex with JonBenet then killing her.
A former American school teacher said publicly Thursday he was with JonBenet Ramsey when she was killed and called the 6-year-old’s death “an accident,” a stunning admission that should help answer 10 years of questions in the unsolved murder case.
John Mark Karr, 41, will be taken within the week to Colorado, where he will face charges of first degree murder, kidnapping and child sexual assault, Ann Hurst of the Department of Homeland Security told a news conference in Bangkok.
“I was with JonBenet when she died,” Karr told reporters afterward, visibly nervous and stuttering as he spoke.
“Her death was an accident.”
Asked if he was innocent of the crime, Karr said: “No.”
He told the Associated Press he was "very sorry for what happened to JonBenet" and that he loves her "very much."
He said Karr insisted his crime was not first-degree murder but that JonBenet died during a kidnapping attempt that went awry.
“He said it was second-degree murder. He said it was unintentional,” Suwat said. He said Karr told Thai interrogators that he picked JonBenet up at her school and brought her to the family’s basement.
"He said he loved this child, that he was in love her. He said she was very pretty, a pageant queen. She was the school star, she was very cute and sweet.”

Apparently he drugged her before having sex with JonBenet then killing her.
In an interview with The Associated Press, he said that he contacted JonBenet’s mother, Patsy, before she died of cancer in June to express his remorse for the killing.
“I conveyed to her many things, among them that I am so very sorry for what happened to JonBenet,” Karr said as U.S. and Thai authorities escorted him from his Bangkok hotel, where he spent over an hour packing his belongings.
Karr said it was his understanding that Patsy Ramsey read letters that he sent to her. He said JonBenet’s death was “an accident.”
A Thai police general said Karr admitted to drugging and having sex with victim before "accidentally" killing her.
“It’s very important for me that everyone knows that I love her very much and that her death was unintentional,” said Karr, who sweated and stuttered occasionally as he spoke in a quiet voice.

Ok, so as far as im concerned justice will not be served to him in this life because our system doesnt work. This piece of shit wanted to come here to these prisons in the states because he was facing life in prison over in tieland. And of corse americas prisons are like 5 star compared to other countrys. We feed,clothe,educate,blah blah all of our prisoners. This is crap. This piece of shit murdered this innocent baby and caused her family so much pain. He should be tortured without trail. He confessed to it and thats that. But you watch, liberals will try to get him free.
I’ve been up all night watching this on the news and this guy is unreal. I don’t think he deserves prison, to be shot, or anything like that. He needs to be put on an island with a bunch of butt fucking happy ass not had any in years dirty old men and used as their bitch. He needs to suffer. I do wish Patsy Ramsey had lived long enough to see him be arrested.
If this disgusting pig did actually commit this horrendous crime then I agree with the others - he needs to suffer. He doesn’t deserve a quick and painless death. JonBenet didn’t get that. She should still be alive today. Hopefully this guy isn’t one of those sick f*cks that will admit to a crime for attention. I hope they have finally found her murderer.

Ok somethings not right here. She was killed on Christmas Day and there is no school on Christmas Day. Also there are a lot of odd discreptencies in all the news reports I have read. Maybe he is one of the people who got scared shitless (or the shit beat outta him) in a foreign country and just confessed. I think I will take the wait and see stance before condemning this guy.

I still think her mom had something to do with it, I dont know though. Maybe she had him kidnap her so they could split the money, and something went wrong and he killed her.
Julie20857 - hi, I’ve read more about this story on this website than I’ve caught from other news sources. It will be very intriguing, though will turn into another media circus to make justice difficult, like in the Laci Peterson case. Yes, it is too bad about her mom.

No one here except the administrator has the power to delete anyone. All I know is that there have been several complaints made by numerous other members here. Perhaps the admin just got sick of the pathetic ramblings.
I agree that it is high time someone was arrested for this viscious crime, but does it not seem a little bit troubling that he is spilling his guts like this? I, as of all of you would love justice to be served for this sweet, innocent, beautiful little girl who deserved to live, but something is troubling me about this…has it occured to anyone that he may be saying he did it because he has researched this case and knows how big it is and in today’s society he would gain “celebrity” status by attaching his name to the JB case… I need to find out more of what the investigation consists of that brought authorities to this guy, right now with no real concrete facts, it still seems a bit fishy to me… If they can tie him to her death by (1)DNA/forensics (2) handwriting analysis of the ransom note or (3) how he knew the family then I’ll be a bit more confident that they have the “right” suspect… until then, with this case- who knows?

Thanks OOOO la al - I have been reading up on it - Seems like the DNA has matched this dude and he has been a sicko for a long long time. He was even tied somewhat to that other little girl Polly Klaas - What we really need is a better way to screen teachers or sub teachers.
The only reason I don’t think the mom had anything to do with it is because she could have just taken the money out of the bank. It was obvious she wore the pants in the family. I think the guy saw a possible way to get some fast money and he went for it and then he said things didn’t go the right way and he strangled her but the news also said her head was bashed in.
Thanks, Julie20857. It looks like they are building a case then against him. I work in cj field and was in DNA lab for awhile, it’s so fascinating how people can lie to turn a case, but body fluids are harder to dismiss—either to exonerate or to convict.
