John Mayer and his recently admitted crush Ricki Lake, 39 raised eyebrows in Hollywood when the two showed up within minutes of each other at the premiere of Judd Apatow’s new movie Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story.
PageSix.com first reported that the singer and the former talk-show host got close on December 4 at the holiday party for Sunshine, Sachs & Associates, which represents the Grammy winner.
The 30-year-old confirmed the infatuation to Access Hollywood on Tuesday. “I have had a huge Ricki Lake crush,” he said. “When you meet someone that you’ve had a crush on when you were a kid, you go, ‘Hey! I’ve had a huge crush on you since I was a kid!’”
Ricky then responded via email to AH:
“I can’t imagine anything more flattering to me at this point in my life than John Mayer telling me he has a crush on me."
John’s girlfriend of almost three months, Friday Night Lights actress Minka Kelly, didn’t make it to the premiere, though the couple were spotted leaving his L.A. house together as recently as Sunday morning.
