The former American football star was sentenced to serve at least 15 years in prison in December (08) after he was convicted of orchestrating a sports memorabilia heist at the Palace Station Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas in September 2007.
However, Simpson - who claims he was simply taking back his sports belongings - is fighting the conviction and filed an appeal in Nevada Supreme Court on Tuesday (26May09).
According to TMZ.com, the Naked Gun star is arguing judicial misconduct, a lack of racial diversity on the jury and errors in sentencing and jury instructions in his bid to overturn his conviction. (WENN/MT/WNWCZM/KL)
